Pre Employment Background Check #3

By: Michael Russell

Article Word Count: 420

Chances are you've had a pre employment background check done on you at some point or another. Well, that is unless you're three. Okay, more specifically, you've most likely had a pre employment background check done if you've had a job of some sort. So this basically applies to teenagers and up. You all know who you are. Anyway, these checks are crucial if employers plan to learn about the ilk of individuals they're hiring. By the way, ilk is just a fancy word for like, kind or type. So, is your past going to come back to haunt you when a pre employment background check is done at your next potential job? This is food for thought.

I have always told my wife, children, friends and anyone else who will listen that the past matters. Yeah, yeah, you may not agree with this, but I am attempting to be a realist here. I honestly believe that we mold our characters via our actions. You are what you do in a way. Of course I'm not necessarily addressing careers, but rather routine choices and actions. In my experience the past can always come back to bite you in the butt. This goes especially for pre employment background check routines. Have you been fired before? Were you accused of stealing at your past places of employment? Have you ever been convicted of a crime? These are all crucial factors in finding new work. I can gladly answer no to all of them. And it does not just end with pre employment background check routines. The past can haunt you in many ways. Take your relationships for example. All that garbage about the past not being relevant that cheesy musicians rant over and over in their songs is bogus. It's utterly false. The past will always matter and have some bearing on the present and future. That's just life. The moral of the story is think about what you're doing before you do it. A film that portrays this truth well is "A History of Violence." You can't escape things you've done.

Okay, now that I've got you thinking about the choices you make and pre employment background check routines, I encourage you not to fret. Chances are the cops didn't even see that video tape. Just a little humor there! Anyway, if you're interested in learning more about the new-age standard pre employment background check, get on the web and find out. It's all at your fingertips.
